We are just a couple of days into the New Year!

It is the Perfect Time for Resolutions

Maybe you have vowed:
to learn a new craft or perfect an old one, like knitting or crocheting;
to hone your cooking skills or deepen your knowledge of international cuisines;
to lose weight or improve your overall health;
to make sure your children are read to everyday;
to participate in the community and culture of Silicon Valley Reads by reading the official selection;
to become capable in home repairs;
to become a more active gardener;
to improve your relationships;
to become a happier person;
to become a more generous and charitable person.

The public library is the perfect place to help you succeed in your goals and hopes for 2008. We have a wealth of resources and information that will give you all the knowledge and encouragement you need. So please come check out your options at Educational Park and good luck!

I've always thought it a good idea to set a goal when you want to achieve a new years resolution.

Say you want to lose weight, for example...
Instead of saying "I want to lose weight this year," give yourself a month to lose a 5-10lbs, then set a new goal for the next month!

You can do this with almost ANYTHING, not just weight loss.

Give yourself a time limit to achieve a particular goal. It promotes better results!

Good luck and HappY New Years!

My New Year's resolution is to read at least one new book a month. :0)

I agree w/ the 1st comment. The most important part of setting a goal is being specific and having a time frame. That's what they teach us in business school, and here you get all the advice for FREE. Good deal, I say.

By the way, where is the book? I couldn't find it on the shelves.

I had sort of given up on setting resolutions, but I'll give it a go for 2008.

According to the BBC, two things that I can do to help achieve my resolution is to tell others about it and to write it down.

One resolution I have for 2008 is to get more sleep.

Another resolution I have is to do at least one assignment from Learning to Love You More.

Ringing in the New Year with some more ZZZZzzzzs!

Happy New Year!
